Celtic Research Circle and Celtic Studies Research Unit invite everyone to the Welsh culture festival Eisteddfod UAM, which this year will be hosted at Przystanek Pireus and will be open to the public. The theme of this year’s edition is “Dragons,” inspired by the Welsh flag and legends. We invite all AMU students to take part in five themed competitions with prizes:
- Poetry competition, theme: “Wings” (Polish, English or Welsh)
- Short story competition, theme: “Dragon” (Polish or English)
- Translation competition from English to Polish — poem: “Welsh Incident” by Robert Graves
- Translation competition from Welsh to Polish – song: “Byrger Mabinogi” by Geraint Jarman
- CELT FACTOR, a student talent show, where participants are to present a performance related to any Celtic country
Competition submissions are open until mid-May.
More information available at the event’s website: eisteddfoduam.wordpress.com [external link]
The main event will take place at Przystanek Pireus on May 24 at 4:30 PM. Alongside the CELT FACTOR competition, there will be educational activities, a performance by harpist Barbara Karlik, and the traditional ceremony of crowning the Eisteddfod Archpoet with the participation of Druids.
We invite you to join the competitions and the celebration!
The project has received funding from the FUND_AKCJA grant of the Poznań Science and Technology Park.
