Culture Vultures Meeting: Presentation and discussion about Maggie O’Farrell’s “Hamnet”

In anticipation of the European premiere of Chloé Zhao’s adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel “Hamnet”, the Culture Vultures Reading Group invites everyone to a presentation devoted to the book.

Professor Katarzyna Burzyńska will explore the turbulent history of both academic and popular narratives surrounding Anne Hathaway—William Shakespeare’s enigmatic wife—who becomes the central figure in O’Farrell’s novel. Meet Agnes Shakespeare and discover the immediate historical and emotional context that shaped the world of the greatest playwright in English theatre.

Everyone is welcome, even if you haven’t read the novel.
