At the invitation of the Students’ Association for American Studies operating at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Dagmara Drewniak from the Canadian Literature Research Unit gave a lecture in the form of a dialogue and conversation with Dr. Ewelina Feldman-Kołodziejuk from the University of Białystok during the 11th Festival of Canadian Cultures “Buy Canadian / By Canada: Canadian National Identity and the Export of Canadian Values” on November 4, 2025.

The lecture and presentation entitled “Canadian Literature as a Vehicle of Identity” was met with keen interest from students of American studies and political sciences. The lecture provided a concise overview of the most important trends in English-language Canadian literature, such as regionalism, the literature of Canada’s Indigenous peoples, multiculturalism in literature, the phenomenon of literary awards and competitions, as well as the latest pop culture productions, such as films and TV series.
