In 2020, the Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University established a partnership agreement for academic exchange with the Faculty of Letters at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile) in Santiago – one of the flagship universities in Latin America and the Caribbean, as confirmed by the QS World University Rankings 2025 [external link].

Recent Developments and Academic Visits

In June 2025, the Faculty of English hosted Prof. Francisco Orellana, PhD [external link], Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Humanities, UC Chile, who visited Poznań for the second time to refine the principles of scientific collaboration and student exchange between Poznań and Santiago. His first visit took place in March 2024, during which Prof. Orellana, a specialist in phonetics, conducted classes and was hosted by Prof. Magdalena Wrembel, PhD, from the Department of Contemporary English Language.

During his second visit, Prof. Orellana was hosted by Prof. Jacek Fabiszak, PhD, from the Department of Studies in Culture and held a series of highly productive meetings with the Faculty authorities. He discussed the development of inter-faculty scientific cooperation with Vice Dean for Cooperation and Development, Dr. Katarzyna Jankowiak, and addressed current student affairs with Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Katarzyna Remiszewska. Prof. Orellana also participated in a strategic meeting with Dr. Katarzyna Turska, Director of the AMU Foreign Language Teaching Centre, and Spanish language instructor Karolina Żok-Plackowska, MA. He held consultations with numerous colleagues from the Faculty, with whom he has established strong professional ties.
