On Wednesday, 2 April 2025, our Faculty hosted the first edition of the FLARE conference – Foreign Language Advancement through Research and Education. The event aimed to create a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the academic community and English language teachers from primary and secondary schools.

As part of the conference, teachers had the opportunity to participate in three practical workshops focused on the latest trends in foreign language teaching:

  • “Using Texts to Develop Higher-Order Thinking Skills” led by Anna Domińska, MA
  • “Generative Artificial Intelligence as a Tool in Education” led by Mateusz Jekiel, PhD
  • “Intercultural Training Ideas for English Lessons” led by Prof. Aleksandra Wach, Robert de Louw, PhD, and Mikołaj Buczak, PhD

Additionally, students attending Dr Karolina Baranowska’s BA seminar presented their theses projects during a poster session, showcasing their practical applications and potential for enhancing language education. This event provided students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and consult their projects with practitioners, while teachers gained insights into the latest trends in language education, particularly those related to technology integration.
