Teaching

Classes on selected Canadian literature topics are offered every academic year and include

  • at the undergraduate (B.A.) level: proseminars and diploma seminars;
  • at the graduate (M.A.) level: M.A. seminars, subject seminars, supplementary seminars.

Research

The main research areas of the Canadian Literature Research Unit members include:

  • contemporary Canadian novel and short story;
  • Canadian magic realism;
  • Native Canadian literatures;
  • literature by Canadian writers of Eastern- and Central-European descent;
  • Canadian life-writing (autobiography, biotext, memoir, etc) and autobiographical novel;
  • memory/history in Canadian literature;
  • literary postcolonialism in Canada;
  • queer Canadian literature;
  • Canadian print culture.
